Huntington Bay is a serene 4.5-acre family retreat overlooking the bay and Long Island Sound, designed as a spacious sanctuary for gatherings with family and friends. Nestled within a wooded site, the residence provides a tranquil escape, combining comfort with a deep connection to its natural surroundings.

Design Concept

Inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, Huntington Bay embraces materials and design choices that harmonize with its environment. By preserving existing trees and using a palette that reflects the coastal landscape, the retreat offers a balanced coexistence with nature, enhancing the experience of serene coastal living.

Key Features

Nature-Centric Layout: Rather than a single structure, the retreat’s functions are distributed across separate but connected spaces, allowing it to blend with the landscape and create private, intimate areas.

Modern Barn Design: The main house, styled as a contemporary barn, uses durable materials that age beautifully, enhancing the connection to the natural environment over time.

Linked Living Spaces: Glass walkways connect the main house with two annexes, expanding the living space and maintaining harmony with the site.

Community and Solitude: Designed to foster connection and relaxation, the layout encourages both communal gatherings and private retreats, with expansive glass panels that open to nature.
